أقوال عن البشر
ضحكتُ فقالوا ألا تستحي؟ بكيت فقالوا ألا تبتسم؟ فتبسمت فقالوا يُرائي بها. عبست فقالوا بدا ما كتم، صمتْ فقالوا كليل اللسان، نطقت فقالوا كثير الكلام، حلمت فقالوا صنيع الجبان ولو كان مقتدراً لانتقم، بسلت فقالوا لطيش به وما كان مُجترئاً لو حكم، يقولون إن قلت لا وامعة حين وافقتهم، فأيقنت أني مهما أردت رضا الناس لا بدّ من أن أذمّ.
كلام العقل والثرثارة
لو كان العقل على قدر كلام الرجل؛ لكان الثّرثار أكبر الناس عقلاً، ولو كان العلم على قدر حفظ المسائل؛ لكان التلميذ أوسع من أستاذه علماً، ولو كان الجاه على قدر الفضائل؛ لما كان للأشرار نفوذ، ولو كان المال على قدر العقل؛ لكان أغنى الناس الحكماء، وأفقر الناس السّفهاء، ولو كان الخلود على قدر نفع النّاس؛ لما خلد السّفاحون والطّغاة وأكثر الرؤساء والملوك والزّعماء. حياة يقودها عقلك، أفضل بكثيرٍ من حياة يقودها كلام الناس.
الناس والإنصاف
الناس لا ينصفون الحيّ بينهم ولا المتوفي حتى إذا ما توارى عنهم ندموا. المغرور مِن الناس، هو الذي ينظُر إلى صُنوف الحيوان والطير، فلا يلمسُ فيها رابطة الحياة التى تُؤاخي بينهُ وبينها. ليكن وجهك باسماً وكلامك ليِّناً، تكن أحب إلى الناس ممّن يُعطيهم الذّهب والفضّة. لا يعجبكم من الرّجل طنطنته،
الحرب والأمانة
ولكن من أدى الأمانة وكف عن أعراض الناس، فهو الرّجل. من جاد ساد، ومن بخل رذل، وإن أجود الناس من أعطى من لا يرجوه. من تكبّر على النّاس ذل. والحرب لو يعلمون لا تستعر نيرانها في أجواف المدافع بل في قلوب الناس وأفكارهم أيضاً. من الممنوع أن تقتل لأنه سيتم معاقبتك بسبب أن هذه جريمة، لكن في حال قتلت كثيرين من الناس فسوف تنجو من العقاب بل سيتم تكريمك لأنك بطل في الحرب.
الذخيرة او المثابرة
والنّاس همّهم الحياة ولا أرى، طول الحياة يزيد غير خبال، وإذا افتقرت إلى الذّخائر لم تجد ذخراً يكون كصالح الأعمال. كلّما لاح النّجاح نتيجة التّخطيط الجيد والمُثابرة المستمرة مقرونين بالفرصة المُواتية اعتبر الناس ذلك حظّاً. يبذل الكثير من الناس الكثير من الوقت والجهد في تفادي المشاكل، بدلاً من أن يحاولوا حلّها.
النجاح والسعادة
يظنّ الناس ان الشعور بالسعادة هو نتيجة النجاح ولكن العكس هو صحيح، النجاح هو نتيجة الشعور بالسعادة. أحسن الناس عقلاً من لم يحرد، وأحضر النّاس جواباً من لم يغضب. لا تهتمّ بسرعة العمل بل جودته، لأن الناس لا يسألونك في كم فرغت منه، بل ينظرون إلى إتقانه وجودة صنعه.
المقيم بالشئ والمستفيد
في الثورة هناك نوعان من النّاس: من يقومون بالثورة، ومن يستفيدون منها. بعض الناس يرون الأشياء كما هي ويتساءلون لماذا، وآخرون يحلمون بأشياء لم تكن أبداً ويتسألون لم لا. اعمل على أن يحبّك الناس عندما تغادر منصبك، كما يحبونك عندما تتسلمه. أكثرُ الناس كذباً من يَكثِرُ الكلام عن نفسه. أغلب الناس عند السلطة يصيرون أشراراً. لا توجد كلمة في القاموس تعدّدت معانيها وتنوّعت وتناقضت بقدر كلمة أحبك، وأكاد أقول إن هذه الكلمة لها من المعاني بقدر عدد الناس أي أربعة آلاف مليون معنى.
الذكر والمستعان والافادة
عليكم بذكر الله تعالى فإنّه دواء وإيّاكم وذكر الناس فإنّه داء. تعلّموا العلم وعلّموه الناس، وتعلّموا الوقار والسكينة وتواضعوا لمن تعلمتم منه ولمن علمتموه، ولا تكونوا جبارة العلماء فلا يقوم جهلكم بعلمكم. أحب الناس إليّ من رفع إليّ عيوبي. أغبى الناس من ضلّ في آخر سفره وقد قارب المنزل. إذا استغنى الناس بالدنيا فاستغني انت بالله، وإذا فرحوا بالدنيا فافرح أنت بالله، وإذا أنسوا بأحبابهم فاجعل أُنسك بالله، وإذا تعرفوا إلى ملوكهم وكبرائهم وتقربوا إليهم لينالوا بهم العزة والرفعة، فتعرف أنت إلى الله وتودّد إليه تنل بذلك غاية العزة والرفعة.
مفهوم السعادة واللجوء
إنّ أسعد الناس هم من يفكرون في أكثر الأفكار مُتعة. أن نقول هناك عمل فني جيد لكن لا يفهمه عامة الناس كأننا نقول أنه هناك أكل جيد جداً لكن معظم الناس لا يستطيعون أكله. منْ ظنَّ أنه يُرضِي أبداً، يوشك أن لا يُرضِي أحَداً. النَّاسُ في اتِّقَاءِ اللئِيم، وخِدَاعِ الكَرِيم. لو طلب إلى الناس أن يحذفوا اللغو وفضول القول من كلامهم، لكاد السّكوت في مجالسهم يحلّ محلّ الكلام. خاطِب الناس بأسمائهم، أعتقد أن أسماءنا هي أجمل شيء تسمعه آذاننا. الناس لا يفصل بينهم النزاع إلا كتاب منزل من السماء، وإذا ردوا إلى عقولهم فلكلِ واحدٍ منهم عقل. إذا استغنى الناس بالدنيا فاستغنِ أنت بالله، وإذا فرحوا بالدنيا فافرح أنت بالله، وإذا أنِسُوا بأحبابهم فاجعل أنسك بالله.
الراحة الحقيقية
من وطن قلبه عند ربه سكن واستراح، ومن أرسله في الناس اضطرب واشتد به القلق. على الإنسان أن يفعل ما يعظ الناس به، كما عليه أيضاً أن يعظ الناس بما يفعله. لست حزيناً لأن الناس لا تعرفني، ولكني حزين لأني لا أعرفهم. من كافأ الناس بالمكر كافاؤه بالغدر. الكثير من الناس يحسبون أنهم يفهمون ما يتخيلون. يقولون لي: لو عرفت نفسك لعرفت جميع الناس فأقول لهم: ألن أعرف نفسي أولاً حتى أعرف جميع النّاس. من الغريب أن يكون أحب الناس إلينا أقدرهم على تشويش حياتنا. من حسنات النّاس أنهم لا يستطيعون إخفاء سيئاتهم طويلاً.
ليس كل شئ كالأخر
شرّ الناس هو ذلك الذي بفسوقهِ يضرّ نفسه والناس. الناس يولدون أحراراً، ولكنهم يُسْتَعْبَدُون أينما ذَهَبوا. الناس الذين يعرفون القليل يتحدثون كثيراً، أما الذين يعرفون الكثير فلا يتحدثون إلّا قليلاً. أيها الناس إن قطعة الذّهب قد تسقط في الوحل فيصيبها الأذى ولكنها تبقى ذهباً، والصّفيح ليس كالذهب، والشّر ليس كالخير، والليل الأسود البهيم ليس كالضحى المشرق المضيء، واليهودي ليس كالمسلم ولو وضعت في يده أموال الدنيا، ولو جمع في مخازنه أسلحة الدّنيا، ولووقفت وراءه أقوى دولة في الدنيا.
الخوف وبلاءه فالحذر
والناس من خوف الفقر في فقر، ومن خوف الذّل في ذل. لا تخف أبداً أن ترفع صوتك من أجل الصدق والحقيقة ومن أجل التعاطف ضد الظلم والكذب والطمع، لو فعل كل الناس ذلك، سيتغير العالم. لقد طمس الطغاة والمستبدّون عقول الناس حتى جعلوهم ينسوا لذة الاستقلال، وعِزّة الحرية؛ بل جعلوهم لا يعقلون كيف تحكم أمة نفسها بنفسها دون سلطان قاهر.
الطبيعة والمجهول
هو قول الطّبيعة لنا بأن عقل الإنسان قابل على أن يضاعف معدل عمله بشكلٍ هائلٍ إذا ما احتاج لذلك، إذا أردت رفع إصلاح الناس، فحرّض عقولهم على العمل لا عضلاتهم. قد يصبح الرجل المُتمرّد أو الثائر بطلاً شعبياً يحترمه الناس، لكن المرأة الثائرة المتمردة تبدو للناس شاذة غير طبيعيّة أو ناقصة الأنوثة. من المفترض أن يخاف الناس من المجهول، ولكن الجهل يصبح نعمة عندما تكون المعرفة مخيفة.
المعرفة والطرق الشائعة
لدي ندوب في يدي من لمس بعض الناس. الطريقة الشّائعة لتخلي الناس عن قوتهم هي اعتقادهم أنهم لا يملكون أي قوة. كيف يمكن لأحدهم أن يعرف كل شيء عن كل الناس. المُجرم شخص كَغيره من الناس، والفرق فقط أنه تمّ القَبض عليه متلبساً.
